Impack

Role: Graphic Designer

Tools used: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity Photo

A selection of surface patterns and designs created for YNUX Limited and their brand, Impack, ranging from the brand’s initial launch in 2021 to the present.

Impack sells packaging supplies like mailer bags and tapes that are eco-friendly and go beyond generic kraft paper and plastic. The B2B brand targets small businesses in North America and England, whose owners are primarily female and in their thirties.

Designs must not only be appealing to the target audience’s aesthetic senses but must also fit with their own business’ brand! As such, Impack’s designs tend to be in the Boho, minimalist, and Scandinavian sphere, often making use of botanicals, florals, and organic shapes. Colours lean towards earthy and muted hues with occasional dark cools or vibrant pops.

The Designs

These are some of the designs by me which reached final production and are currently available on Impack’s website and Amazon shop:

Here are my designs in actual product photography. These photos feature some of them in the above and variant colourways, and alongside the work of other designers:

Impack’s brand is admittedly very different from my personal aesthetic sense, so designing for its products don’t come as naturally for me as compared to if I were designing for a brand I was in sync with aesthetically from the start. Nonetheless, it’s a very important skill as a graphic designer to be able to design for a wide range of voices - even those completely opposite from your own. I take that challenge bravely, and working with YNUX Limited’s owners, Duy and Hien, I have managed to create designs that appeal to customers (if some designs receiving positive feedback on social media and being sold out is anything to go by!).
